"The Balancing Act of Forest Management"
As a the district wildlife biologist for the Sisters Ranger District it is my primary responsibility to assist with the development and implementation of projects that maintain and promote habitat for a variety of wildlife species which include but not limited to threatened, endangered, sensitive, and special status species. Typically these projects are planned at the landscape level and address restoration activities to improve forest resiliency to insect, disease, and stand replacing wildfire. In addition, a variety of other uses occur on the National Forest, so impacts to wildlife and their habitat can take many forms, as well.
